The format is 4 unbalanced pools because I could not find a fair way of
picking 8 teams from 3 pools for the pre-quarters.  The pools of 3 cross and
pools of 4 cross in the pre-quarters so it's fair.  The primary goal of this
tournament is to pick the top 3 teams from our region, not necessarily the
number one team.

Because this region is sending 3 teams, we have been informed that the
following rule applies to the 2/3 game:

3 bid tournament (2-3 game for seeding at nationals):
- The 2-3 game (between the loser of the finals and the winner of the
backdoor game) must be played if:
a) the two teams have not played in the tournament, or
b) the teams have played twice in the tournament and their record is
1-1 vs. each other (only possible in tournaments that use pool play on
Saturday).
- The 2-3 game will not be played if the teams have met previously in
The tournament and one team has a winning record vs the other.  If this is
The case, the team with the winning record will earn the 2nd place bid and
The other team will be awarded the 3rd bid. Or it'd too dark and the teams
decide to flip discs.
