     The finals were between The Throbbers and The CMU Plaid. The Plaid was a slight favorite going into the game, with the likes of Jumpin' Joe Enck and "Grandma" running the show. But this is when the metamorphosis of Jim Parinella, and for that matter Lance Williams, began to unfold. Two raw talents became forces to reckon with. The Throbbers had always relied on the Umbrella Zone, with Todd Williams , Mike Bigley and Bill Bishop playing the deep three. But this year, Jim took over the deep spot, and Lance played a "two" with Biggs at the other two. The three on the them munched most of Grandma's hucks, and the Throbbers won in a near blow out.
