Summer League 2004

Annoucements:
The last pool play games are 7/21/04, and on 7/24/04 and 7/31/04 there will be crossover games for the newly forms pools, X (1-4 from both pools), Y (5-8), and Z (9-12). After these games are completed, the teams will be seeded 1-24 and teams 9-24 will each have a play-in game during the week to determine which finals bracket in which they will participate on 8/14/04.

What is Summer League?
The 22nd annual Pittsburgh Summer Ultimate League is a coed recreational league that will take place on Saturdays from June 5th through August 7th, with finals taking place August 14th.

Who can play in Summer League?
To be eligible to play in summer league you must have either:
1) Been a registered player for Summer League in a prior year
2) Been a registered player for the Pittsburgh High School Ultimate League
3) Reached the age of 15 by the end of the 2004 calendar year
4) Be granted permission due to special circumstances by the Summer League Commissioners

How much will Summer League cost me? What will this give me?
Summer League dues are once again $40 for returning players, and $30 for players new to Pittsburgh Summer Ultimate League. This will get you about 15 regular season games, followed by a full playoff bracket of at least 2 games for each team. Summer League registration will also get you a disc and a t-shirt, an end of season BBQ, as well as a great time with people from a wonderful community.

How do I register and when does registration close?
Registration is closed, and teams have been picked, but you can try to register late here, although late registrants are not assured a spot on a team.

How are teams determined?
Teams have a male and female captain pair, and in fact all the teams have been drafted out already.

I'm going to miss a lot of games. Can I still play in finals?
To participate in finals, a player must attend 25% of their team's regular season games. Based upon last year's schedule, this number will probably be around 4 games.

How do I find out more information?
Sit tight, as most Summer League information will be posted here over the next few weeks.
