From Matthew Bourland of 7 Minute Abs:
Erin Peck and I captained that year and we entered the draft knowing basically nobody. We only picked friends and former teammates, and I recall picking Mark McGreggor solely because his name was capitalized. David LaRose was discovered as a premere cheermister, and one memorable cheer involved a tall tale ode to Stan Marshall to the Sly and the Family Stone song, "Stand". This team bonded like no other team i've been on, and we had weekly pot luck dinners during a summer we all discovered the concept of good beer. Our low expectations and comradery probably made our losing easier, although we did upset #5 seed MI-7 in the finals and lost a close game to Summer League Ultimate Team in which I learned the hard way that a zone that double teams all the time is hard to beat.
