Is there a limit on the number of players/team?

There is no maximum limit for clique teams. Each team must have a minimum of 5 men and 5 women on its roster. 

Is there a limit on the number of registrants?
Winter League caps the number of players on the Individual Teams in order to maintain correct Male/Female ratios.  This is especially relevant for male players, as male registration typically fills up - we recommend signing up early to ensure a spot.

Registration is closed - can I still get on a team?
Unfortunately, we do not accept registrations after online registration has closed. 

How can I be certain that my registration was accepted?
If you register online and you pay through Google Checkout, you can be certain your registration was accepted once you receive a payment confirmation from Google.  If you do not receive confirmation of your payment, it likely indicates that there was an issue with processing it - log back into Google Checkout and confirm.  If you need further confirmation, please contact .

I’m on the waitlist - what does this mean?
If you’re on the waitlist, you will be notified by the league commissioner in the event that there is space for you in the league.  If it turns out that there is room for you, you will have the opportunity to pay and join the league.  If you are on the waitlist, it means you signed up after the registration cap has already been met.

How can I make sure I get a spot in Winter League?
Sign up early! In past years, several players have been left out due to signing up after the league has filled up.  

I’m from outside of the United States and do not have a Social Security Number - can I still register for Winter League?
Yes! Just put in all 7’s in the Social Security Number field.

How can I make sure that I end up on my friends team?

Only players signing up for an 'Individual Team' may 'Baggage' with other players. Winter League players are permitted to baggage with up to two other people.  If you list another player as your baggage (they must already have an account on pittsburgh-ultimate.org, but they don’t have to be registered yet), and they do the same for you, you will be placed on the same team as that player.  IMPORTANT - if the baggage is not reciprocated, you WILL NOT be guaranteed placement on the other players team.

How can I make sure that my friend has reciprocated my baggage request?
When you list your friend as your baggage, they should receive an email indicating that you listed them and informing them that they have to reciprocate.  When your friend registers, they must be sure to list you as their baggage.  If the baggage worked, when you pull up the “Registration” section of the website you should see confirmation that you’re all set.

I forgot to reciprocate baggage with my friend, and now Registration is closed - what can I do?

Unfortunately, once registration is closed we no longer accept changes to baggages.

How many games will I play in Winter League?
Each team will have at least 12 regular season games and at least 2 playoff games. 

Will I have games on Friday and Saturday nights?

Your team will play on either Friday or Saturday night, but not both.  Your schedule will be posted a week before the start of the regular season.

Will I have games every weekend?

Your team will have games scheduled on either Friday or Saturday night most weekends of the regular season.  Your team will have one or two bye weeks during the regular season.  Your schedule will be posted a week before the start of the regular season.

What time are games held?

Friday regular season games take place at 11:30pm, 12:10am, and 12:50am. Saturday regular season games take place at 9:45pm and 10:25pm  OR 11:05pm and 11:45pm. If your team plays on Friday, it will play 3 games that night.  If your team plays on Saturday, it will play 2 games (except Saturday February 11th, teams will play 3 games-- 9:45pm, 10:25pm, and 11:05pm).  Playoff game dates/times are TBA based on regular season results. 

Where will my games be held?
All games will take place at Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena (PISA). Their address is:

Fields 1 and 2 are the open fields. Fields 3 and 4 are the dasher fields. The closer dasher field is 3, the farther out dasher field is 4.
