Information and Bid Process
Please read below for information on 2012 PHUL Winter League.
Each school is permitted to have one (boys) team participate in the league. If there are still spots available after all bids are submitted, a school may request to have a second team.
There MUST be a minimum of 12 players per team.
If a girl wishes to play on your team, please email ChristieLawry@phul-ultimate.org before she registers.
All players must register independently. During registration, each player must indicate on which team he/she will be playing.
.A combination team (comprised of more than one school) is permitted. If you are interested in playing but cannot field a team, please email ChristieLawry@phul-ultimate.org. If there are enough individual players to fill a team (and a spot still available), we can help organize the combination team.
Dates and Time
The league runs for 8 weeks: beginning Tuesday, 3 January 2012 and finishing Tuesday, 21 February 2012.
Games will be on Tuesday evenings between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
When submitting a bid, please include any dates that you expect to be conflicts for your team. I will attempt to honor as many schedule conflicts as possible, but cannot guarantee that all requests will be met. Please make every effort to structure your team to avoid schedule conflicts.
Location
Games will be held at the Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena (PISA) located at 22 Rich Hill Road, Cheswick, PA 15024.
Cost
$375/team
Forfeits
If a team is unable to make a game, the team captain must inform the commissioner at least 4 hours before the scheduled game time. If a team does not notify the commissioner at least 4 hours before scheduled game time that a game is going to be missed, that team will be charged $30 per game. Should a team generate forfeits on more than one scheduled game day, that team will automatically be ineligible for finals in additional to the accrual of fines for each game forfeited.
That being said, occasionally missed games are unavoidable due to the inclement weather, etc. These situations will be handled on a case by case basis at the commissioner's discretion.
How to submit a bid
Team organizers must submit a bid with the following information via email to ChristieLawry@phul-ultimate.org AND must pay online with the link below by December 12. The first twelve teams to pay online will be accepted into the league.
- Name, address, phone number and email address of team captain/team contact
- School/team name (please indicate if this is a combination team)
- Full name (first and last) of every player on the roster to include a MINIMUM of 12 players
- Schedule conflicts
- If there will be any girls playing on your team
NOTE: Each of your players MUST register online also (at no extra cost). They cannot register until your bid has been accepted.
