Rosters:

Rosters will have to be set for the playoffs by Feb 15. After those games, teams may only play people on their rosters; substitutions will not be allowed. You can use subs up to and including Feb 15, per the rules previously outlined, but not after.

Rule Clarifications:

  • 2-point play
    A 2-point play may be thrown from inside the end zone or the line. So, if the other team throws it away in your end zone, and you walk it up to the goal line to put it into play, you should score a complete pass in the opposing end zone from that point as 2 points.
  • Roster substitution policy
    Teams may substitute for missing roster players IF:
    1. the total # of players for a game does not exceed the total # on their roster. So, if a team has a 16-player roster, they may have subs to reach 16 for a given game; if a team has 13 on their roster, they may sub to reach 13 for a given game;
    2. the substituting player is either not on another winter league team or is on a team that has a bye for that week. Teams may not use subs that are playing that week;
    3. the opposing captain[s] agree to your substituted players.

    All 3 requirements must be met for a substitution to be legal. The penalty for substitution violations is 3 points per infraction. So, if Team A beats Team B 20-10, and team A is found to have made 2 sub rule violations, the final score is adjusted to 20-16.

  • Contested stalls/fouls
    A contested stall or foul goes back to 8.
  • Stall count
    If you start the stall count at 1, you must restart the count at 6.
  • Brick
    There really is no need for a brick with the short field. But if captains want to have one, they can agree to it before the game. The brick would then be the yellow line about a yard or 2 ahead of the goal line.

Details:

Games will be on Saturday nights in the 8:15, 9:15, 10:15 & 11:15pm time slots. [Last year, we started games 15 minutes after the hour. I'll find out how this will work as we get closer.] If your time slot is 8:15pm, you have from 8:15 to 8:20 to warm up, & your 55 minute game is from 8:20 to 9:15pm. Regardless of what time you actually pull, your game will end at 9:15pm. Because we pay by the hour, there is no 'ultimate' time, so to maximize your ultimate, have your 6 [3 boys, 3 girls] on the line at five after.

OTHER
Incredibly hard cap. At the end of the hour, the game ends at the buzzer [there's a big clock w/a buzzer], not at the end of the point in progress. If the disc is in the air at the buzzer, the game ends at the end of that throw. Last year a game was won that way! After the buzzer, the next 2 teams take the field for 5 minutes of warmup.

At the end of the last game, please gather up your belongings & prepare to leave. Again, we're paying for 4 hours, & our time is up. The staff wants to go home, so there's not much time to linger & visit.
