Pittsburgh's Oakland Ultimate finished 12th out of 16 teams at the USAU Club Championships this past weekend as the first Pittsburgh-based Open team to attend the Championships in over 20 years. Oakland notched wins vs. SubZero (Minneapolis) and Tanasi (Nashville) during power pools on Friday to get into the 9-12 bracket, where they fell to Truck Stop (DC/Baltimore) and Johnny Bravo (Boulder, CO).
Also, congrats to Pittsburgh native Tommy Hendrickson for winning the Mixed Championship with Blackbird (Bay Area).
Oakland Ultimate will be heading to Sarasota to take on the best in the nation at the USAU Club Championships Thursday through Sunday of this week. Congratulations to Pittsburgh-based Oakland Ultimate who qualified for the USA Ultimate Club Championships this past weekend! Oakland qualified by beating out North Carolina's Cash Crop 14-13 in the game-to-go, after being down 12-9. Oakland Ultimate is the first Pittsburgh-based Open Club team to qualify for the Championships since Arm & Hammer qualified in 1990.

Other Pittsburgh Teams also competed at Regionals in the Club Division this year. In the Open Division, Dire Wolf finished tied for 7th place. In the Mixed division, Muff'n'Men finished tied for 5th place. In the Women's division, Hot Metal finished tied for 5th place.
