  • Maria Bajzek
  • Tracy Gibbs
  • Justin Burdett

Vivek and Tracy were newly elected to 2-year terms, and Maria was re-elected to a second 2-year term.  Justin Burdett was elected to a 1-year term.  The four of them join Nicole Shannon as the five-member CPU Board.  Special thanks to outgoing Board Members Henry Thorne, Chriss O'Lare, and Darren Shultz, whose contributions to the community have been exceptional.

Coach-for-a-day!

PHUL is piloting a new program: Coach-for-a-day!

We realize that we have invaluable resources here in Pittsburgh, with players and leaders that support youth ultimate, but don't always have the extra time to consistently coach a team. This program is for you! We have a few teams left in the league without coaches and they are dying for help. If you can come to even just one practice, they'd love to have you.

If you are interested in seeing a schedule, please email ChristieLawry@phul-ultimate.org and we can add you to a google document with requested dates and times. From there, you can choose to sign up for one date, a few, or none at all. No pressure!

Thanks in advance,

After a battle in the bitter cold and gusting winds, a champion and recipients of the 7 league cones has emerged...Mongolian P.I.M.P. Despite the sloppy field and cold, Charcool and Mongolian P.I.M.P. brought out their rosters with a hunger for victory. The game was hard fought with both teams digging deep and finding streaks of scoring. In the end, both teams shook hands grabbed some food and ran off to their cars.

Pittsburgh's Oakland Ultimate finished 12th out of 16 teams at the USAU Club Championships this past weekend as the first Pittsburgh-based Open team to attend the Championships in over 20 years.  Oakland notched wins vs. SubZero (Minneapolis) and Tanasi (Nashville) during power pools on Friday to get into the 9-12 bracket, where they fell to Truck Stop (DC/Baltimore) and Johnny Bravo (Boulder, CO).

Also, congrats to Pittsburgh native Tommy Hendrickson for winning the Mixed Championship with Blackbird (Bay Area).
