I don't think anyone has posted about this yet, if so my bad:

http://www.usaultimate.org/news/2011-us ... n-updates/

The one change I'm curious about is this one:
Quote:
College regions will be redrawn and increased in number from eight to ten. One automatic bid to the College Championships and Division III College Championships will be awarded to each region in each division (Open, Women’s). The remaining 10 bids to the College Championships will be awarded through strength wildcards.

I wonder how that would effect our region where if we don't receive a strength bid, it would be harder for a team like Pitt to go to Nationals.

I'm also curious as to how the first strength bids will be rewarded.

I wasn't able to find a map of the redrawn regions. Does one exist yet? I wonder if they're doing this to split up really powerful regions, thereby increasing the talent that qualifies for the Championships.

It is important to remember that it is always hard to qualify for Nationals, no matter what the system is. That is what makes Pitt's run of six consecutive appearances (a feat only exceeded by Colorado and Wisconsin) so impressive. I can also guarantee that they are already hard at work on number seven.
